Recycle the Warmth - Jan 27 - 29 20th Annual Blanket and Bedding Drive  St. Vincent de Paul annually provides hundreds of needy people in Madison and its surrounding communities with good-quality recycled and new bedding.  Working with area churches, the four Shopko stores in Dane County, WISC-TV3, TVW, WTDY-1670AM, Today’s Q-106.3FM, JAMZ-93.1FM, WJJO-94.1FM,  LaMovida-1480AM and WHIT-1550AM, we ask people to bring their reusable or new bedding to one of the county’s four Shopko stores or one of the participating churches being added to the list below.  Blankets and other bedding will also be collected at the six St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores in Madison, Stoughton, Verona and Waunakee.  Dane County Shopko stores are making new, good-quality blankets available for purchase and donation at an attractive price.  WTDY will be broadcasting live on Friday, Jan. 27, from the Shopko location at 7401 Mineral Point Road in Madison. All the bedding we collect or purchase during this drive will then be given away during the next twelve months to needy individuals and families who come to our Center for Vincentian Charity (2033 Fish Hatchery Road in Madison) seeking assistance from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Another way to help is to contribute toward the purchase of additional bedding (new sheets, pillows, and mattress covers) to meet the requests we receive.  Last year we raised more than $5,000 from people in local church communities and from area businesses.
